About Bin Blast
Our Why
There's only one tiny window to wash your bin: right after it's emptied, before it fills up again. Most people miss it, so the bin never gets washed. We figured Dunedin needed someone to catch that window at the kerbside, and Bin Blast was born. Nobody should have to scrub a bin by hand.
The Problem & Solution
A dirty wheelie bin stinks, and it harbours bacteria, maggots and flies. Everyone dreads cleaning it, so it stays at the bottom of the to-do list.
Since launching in November 2024 we've cleaned thousands of bins, from Brighton to Port Chalmers. Lift the lid on a freshly blasted bin and it could have come straight from the shop. No smell, no grime.
The Truck
Our truck was designed and built right here in Ōtepoti Dunedin: a Fuso Canter 616 cab and chassis fitted with a custom cleaning system. Two cleaning heads on the rear of the truck hit your bins with high-pressure water at 90°C, hot enough to steam-clean without any harsh chemicals. Every drop of wastewater goes into the onboard tank, not down your driveway.
Our Partners
The truck was built with local firms. LB Engineering made the custom body, BrightSparks Automotive Electrical handled the wiring, and ProSigns did the wrap, which is why you'll spot us three streets away.
